The capacitance level sensor measures the level (height) of liquids or powders using capacitance. It consists of two electrodes inserted into the container, and the capacitance between these electrodes changes based on the level of liquid or powder inside the container.
There are two methods of using electrodes: using a bare electrode as an electrode and using a sheathed electrode coated with an insulator. The former is used in an insulating liquid or powder, utilizing the dielectric constant of the liquid or powder itself. The latter is used in a conductive liquid or powder, and the change in capacitance due to the level of the liquid or powder is typically measured as a change in the resonant frequency of an LC resonant circuit. Capacitive level sensors can be applied to many liquids or powders and have relatively high precision.

1-4-1. Pin level type capacitive sensor

As a sensor for measuring the height of air conditioner condensate, it is capable of measuring both 2 points and 3 points. Typically, the short pin side is used for water overflow detection function, while the long pin side is used for condensate detection.
